An April 7 workshop will focus on succession planning for local tree farms and family-owned timberland.

“Ties to the Land” explores the challenges of families who want to pass forestland to the next generation. The program aims to raise awareness of those hurdles, and help families overcome them.

The daylong workshop begins at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 7, at the Clark County Operations Conference Center, 4700 N.E. 78th St. in Vancouver.

The cost is $45 per family. Families can register online at Washington State University Clark County Extension.

Families may also call WSU extension forester Andy Perleberg at 509-667-6540 for more information.
