Letter: ‘No’ to expansion of coal exports

‘No’ to expansion of coal exports

It’s wrong to fuel China’s economic and military growth. It’s stupid, short-term thinking. It’s wrong to fuel China’s pollution that will end up here. Mining coal is dirty. Transporting coal is dirty and raises the cost of transporting goods that stay in America. Intersections will back up around rail crossings, so prepare to play “beat the train” a lot more often. What’s the point of creating a few jobs in a Washington state we no longer want to live in?

Tell your representatives to permanently flush the proposal to expand coal exports, and say “no” to any increase in coal shipments through Washington.
