TACOMA, Wash. (AP) — The victim in a Tacoma homicide had been dismembered, and the head and legs were in separate bags when the body was discovered in the bedroom of a home.
The Pierce County prosecutor’s office released details of the slaying when it charged 27-year-old John Jones on Monday with first-degree murder in the death of 54-year-old Wayne Williams.
The body was found Wednesday by Jones’ mother who lives in the home and went to investigate a foul odor.
Preliminary autopsy reports indicate Williams had been strangled March 18 or 19. He also had numerous puncture wounds to a hand and his head. The legs and head were apparently severed with a hand saw found in the bedroom.
Jones told police he and Williams used drugs together, but he denied the killing.
