CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — Natasha Adair is the new women’s basketball coach at the College of Charleston.

Adair spent the previous eight seasons as an assistant at Wake Forest. Before that, she spent six years as a Georgetown assistant coach.

Adair takes over for Nancy Wilson, who retired after 17 years as head coach.

Adair said she will shoot for a Southern Conference title immediately. She said her players will play hard and smart and value every possession.

College of Charleston finished 7-23 overall this season and 6-14 in conference play.
