LOGAN, Utah (AP) — Travis Smith came off the bench to score 17 points, including a tiebreaking 3-pointer with 90 seconds left, and Mercer won the CollegeInsider.com Tournament by beating Utah State 70-67 on Wednesday night.

Langston Hall, the tournament MVP, added 16 points for the Bears (27-11) and Bud Thomas scored eight of his 10 in the second half.

Kyisean Reed had 15 points for the Aggies (21-16) despite playing much of the second half with four fouls. Preston Medlin added 14 points, Danny Berger 13 and Brockeith Pane 10.

Behind four consecutive dunks by Reed, Utah State roared back and tied the game with 5:55 to go when Berger tipped in a missed shot. Playing at home, the Aggies held the lead for most of the next 412 minutes until Smith nailed a 3 with 1:30 remaining to give the Bears a 60-57 edge.

Hall made four free throws in the final 15 seconds to preserve the victory.
