Cuban says Miami return isn’t sentimental

MIAMI (AP) — Mark Cuban says his return to Miami comes without much sentiment.

Cuban and the Dallas Mavericks made their first trip to the arena where they hoisted last year’s NBA championship trophy, facing the Miami Heat on Thursday night. Cuban says he has barely worn his championship ring and that he didn’t see a need to bring it on this trip.

Cuban also says it’s “certainly more fun” to be defending a championship than it was to chase one for so many years. The Mavericks beat the Heat in six games in last season’s NBA finals, turning the tables after a six-game loss to Miami in the 2006 title series.
