Puyallup man convicted of killing roommate

TACOMA, Wash. (AP) -- A 51-year-old Puyallup man faces more than 25 years in prison when he is sentenced April 20 in Tacoma for killing a woman who had rented a room to him at her apartment.
A Pierce County Superior Court jury convicted Kelly Merz on Thursday of murder.
Prosecutors say he shot 33-year-old Cori Lewis in September 2011 after she tried to evict him.
