Woodson shrugs off return to Atlanta to face Hawks

ATLANTA (AP) — Mike Woodson is shrugging off his return to Atlanta, saying he’s more concerned about getting his own team healthy.

The interim coach of the New York Knicks said Friday it’s no big deal to be back in the city where he coached for six seasons. He led the Hawks to the playoffs the last three of those years, but was fired in 2010 and replaced by one of his assistants, Larry Drew.

Woodson was out of coaching last season, but he returned as a Knicks assistant this year. Then, he was promoted to interim head coach when Mike D’Antoni quit with New York mired in a slump.

Since Woodson took over, the Knicks have won eight of nine to strengthen their bid for a playoff spot.
