NORTH BEND, Wash. (AP) — The King County Sheriff’s office says a North Bend man shot and killed another man who broke into his house and had burst into the bedroom where he and his girlfriend were holed up.

Sheriff’s spokeswoman Cindy West says the intruder had yelled and banged his way through the home and the couple sought refuge in their bedroom Friday night.

KOMO News reports (http://bit.ly/H5VsBK) that deputies think the man shot had been acting erratically just earlier, harassing customers at a nearby gas station and banging on walls and doors of several homes.

Deputies had been tailing the man and were outside the house as the man was shot. After hearing the gun fire, deputies found the man dead in the couple’s bedroom. The couple said they didn’t know the man.
