AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Jeremy Wariner and Sanya Richards-Ross ran impressive races at the Texas Relays on Saturday, serving notice they intend to not only get to the London Olympics but win medals.

Wariner ran a strong anchor leg for the Central Texas All-Stars in the invitational men’s 1,600 relay, holding off two other runners on the back stretch before cruising to victory by several meters.

The 2004 gold medal winner in the 400 and silver medalist in 2008, Wariner had to skip the 2011 world championships because of a toe injury.

Richards-Ross, who won the 400 world indoor championship earlier this month, ran a personal-best wind-aided 10.89 seconds in the 100 meters and anchored the Hart of Texas team’s win in the 1,600 relay.
