UNCASVILLE, Conn. (AP) — Tina Charles and Asjha Jones say they won’t let their selection to the U.S. Olympic team distract them from their goals with the WNBA’s Connecticut Sun.

The team opened training camp Tuesday, coming off a 21-15 season that ended in a first-round playoff loss to Atlanta.

Charles said she’ll have plenty of time to think about the Olympics in July, when the league takes a monthlong break for the games. For now, she’s concentrating on becoming a team leader in her third season in the WNBA.

Jones, the final player picked for Team USA, says she’s not worried about the extra month of work at the Olympics, but is concerned about the pounding her body will take leading up to the games and staying injury free.
