HERMISTON, Ore. (AP) — Authorities say they believe a Hermiston woman who disappeared last week has been kidnapped by her former boyfriend, an agricultural worker who has served time for attempted rape.

The East Oregonian reports that (http://bit.ly/IHba0J ) 26-year-old Melody Kaye Mickel has been missing since she left work Thursday at the drugstore where she is assistant manager.

Authorities say they believe the car she was in was driven by 28-year-old Alberto Quiroz Martinez. They’ve issued a warrant for his arrest.

Investigators say that after they were called in, officers found blood and signs of a struggle at Martinez’s home, though not enough to suggest a killing.
