Letter: Why pass a toothless smoking ban?

If smoking is outlawed in the county parks, who will enforce it?

A spokesman for the Clark County Sheriff’s Department said on TV that they do not have enough people to enforce the current DUI laws.

Clark Skamania Drug Task Force says in public briefings that drugs can be obtained in any drinking establishment in Clark County.

So who is going to bust the smokers? I agree that it’s not good to smoke in public or, for that matter, at all. But why pass laws we do not have the ability to enforce?
