SUDBURY, Mass. (AP) — Babe Ruth’s home outside Boston is for sale.

The estate known as Home Plate Farm in Sudbury, Mass., is being offered for $1.65 million.

Real estate broker Scott Adamson says Ruth lived in the home from 1922 to 1926, after he had been sent to the New York Yankees.

The 5,000-square-foot, five-bedroom, 3 1/2-bathroom home has undergone extensive renovations since the 1920s. Adamson says it now has a “dream kitchen.”

But it also maintains many of the features from Ruth’s time. Adamson says one room even has burn marks on the floor that are said to be from Ruth’s cigar ashes.

The property also includes a 5,000-square-foot barn with stables, office space, garage bays and a one-bedroom apartment.

Adamson calls it “a one-of-a-kind opportunity to own a piece of history.”
