RENO, Nev. (AP) -- A 27-year-old Oregon man has been convicted of second-degree murder with a deadly weapon in the 2010 killing of his brother-in-law in Nevada.
Washoe County jurors returned the verdict Monday for Timothy Wayne Morgan of Eugene in the beating death of Eric Preimesberger of Reno.
Police say the two men had been childhood friends. They say they had been in a drunken argument before Morgan killed Preimesberger by striking him the head with a baseball bat.
After the killing, police say Morgan and his sister, Kristi Preimesberger, bought a freezer which Morgan used to transport the body and bury it in the California wilderness.
