WASHINGTON (AP) — Third baseman Ryan Zimmerman has been reinstated from the 15-day disabled list by the Washington Nationals, who put outfielder Jayson Werth on the DL.

The moves were made before Washington’s game at the Pittsburgh Pirates on Tuesday.

Zimmerman has been out since April 21 with a right shoulder injury. He was hitting .224 with a homer and seven RBIs in 15 games this season.

Werth heads to the DL for the first time since 2008. He had surgery on a broken left wrist Monday, a day after he hurt himself in a game against the Phillies.
