Clark jazz musicians receive awards

Central Park: Clark College Jazz Ensemble tenor saxophonist David Floratos received an outstanding soloist award from the Eau Claire Jazz Festival and a special citation for outstanding musicianship from the Greeley Jazz Festival.

Central Park -- Three Clark College Jazz Ensemble musicians who performed at two of the nation’s top collegiate jazz festivals received special awards and recognition for outstanding solo performances. The awards followed jazz ensemble performances at the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire Jazz Festival from March 29 to April 1 and the University of Northern Colorado Greeley Jazz Festival from April 19 to 21. Guitarist Nick Ferraro, Vancouver, received an outstanding soloist award from the Eau Claire Jazz Festival. Trombonist Ian Garner, Hockinson, received an outstanding soloist award from the Eau Claire Jazz Festival and a special citation for outstanding musicianship from the Greeley Jazz Festival. Tenor saxophonist David Floratos, McMinnville, Ore., received an outstanding soloist award from the Eau Claire Jazz Festival and a special citation for outstanding musicianship from the Greeley Jazz Festival.
