Pendleton Woolen Mills will open a retail store at the Portland International Airport by midsummer, according to the Port of Portland, which operates PDX.

The store will be designed to showcase Pendleton’s heritage in Oregon and Southwest Washington. Portland-based Pendleton was founded in Pendleton, Ore., and has operated a Washougal weaving mill since 1912.

Pendleton formerly operated a PDX retail store, which was closed in 2010 to make room for a new Beaches Restaurant. Pendleton’s new store will feature apparel and home furnishings, including the company’s signature woven-wool blankets inspired by Native American graphics.
