PHOENIX (AP) — The San Francisco Giants have activated left-handed reliever Jeremy Affeldt and recalled infielder Charlie Culberson from Triple-A Fresno.
Affeldt has been on the 15-day disabled list with a right knee sprain. To make room, San Francisco designated left-hander Travis Blackley for assignment.
The Giants also optioned infielder Conor Gillaspie to Fresno.
Culberson was in the lineup at second base on Sunday for his major league debut.
