Firefighters from Camas and Washougal practiced rescue techniques at the “Pot Holes” area of Lacamas Creek on Monday morning.

Firefighters from the Camas-Washougal Fire Department and East County Fire & Rescue parked vehicles in an entrance off Northeast Everett Street near the “Little Dam” shortly after 7 a.m.

Camas-Washougal Chief Nick Swinhart said the area has been the site of numerous rescues in the past. Crews practiced a rope rescue, including how to raise a stretcher with a patient on it, he said.

“It’s one of those things they refresh on all the time to make sure they’re ready when the nice weather hits,” Swinhart said.

Crews finished drills between 9 and 9:30 a.m.
