MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Justin Morneau took some swings in early batting practice on Monday and says his sore left wrist is feeling good as he gets closer to being eligible to come off the disabled list.

Morneau is eligible to come off the DL on Wednesday. He plans to take batting practice before the game on Tuesday as one final test.

Morneau says he doesn’t think he will need a rehab assignment to work on his timing. General manager Terry Ryan says if Morneau doesn’t think he needs one, he most likely won’t be sent out before rejoining the Twins.

The Twins start an eight-game road trip on Wednesday in Detroit and Morneau says he’s already looking at who will be pitching for the Tigers to get ready.
