Letter: Lessons learned from experience

Lessons on serving or mastering motherhood, from a grandmother’s point of view:
Don’t try to be perfect or to make your child that way either. It causes nothing but frustration.
Love and accept your child for who they are, not what you expect them to be.
Listen to the answers your child gives you when asking him/her a question.
When angry or upset, give both of you a chance to calm down. Abuse is never the answer. Talk to your significant other to work out discipline and solutions that work for everybody. Stick to it.
Accept your child as a gift from God.
