SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — The Spokane County sheriff’s office says the fatal shooting of an intruder at a Newman Lake home appears to be self-defense.
Deputy Craig Chamberlin says quick thinking by Doug Snarski probably saved his life and the life of his girlfriend early Sunday when her ex-boyfriend entered their home armed with a shotgun and a handgun.
Snarski shot Sean Parsons after he said no one would be getting out of the house alive and fired both his guns.
The Spokesman-Review reports (http://is.gd/YlKjsP ) emergency dispatchers heard the confrontation because Snarski dialed 911 and left the line open after he realized Parsons was inside the home.
