DEQ fines Ore. man for burning motor home

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. (AP) -- A Klamath Falls man who burned the remains of his motor home has been fined more than $4,000 by state regulators.

In announcing the fine this week, the Department of Environmental Quality said the blaze set by Donald R. Merrill included furniture, insulation, metal and siding, along with treated wood, blankets and bags of garbage.

The DEQ says the materials pose health and environmental risks when burned.
