Mother stabbing suspect arrested at Grand Mound

OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) -- The Thurston County sheriff's office says a woman suspected of stabbing her mother was arrested Sunday night and jailed for investigation of attempted murder.
Lt. Greg Elwin says Amanda Bassell was tracked to an abandoned house at Grand Mound and captured as she attempted to flee.
The 23-year-old is accused of stabbing her 42-year-old mother early Sunday as she slept at a home in Rochester. She is hospitalized in Olympia with neck wounds.
