Vancouver police reported the arrest Monday of a wanted high-risk sex offender who left his home last week.

In the news release, police said they arrested Michael E. Lamb, 70. Lamb was booked into the Clark County Jail on one count of failure to register as a sex offender, a Class C felony.

Police said they were tipped off by a person who’d heard news reports about the search for Lamb.

Lamb was convicted of indecent liberties in 1991 and first-degree child molestation in 2000; both victims were very young children, according to Vancouver police.

Lamb is classified as a Level 3 sex offender, the most likely to reoffend.

A VPD sex offender registration and apprehension unit contacted Lamb last week at his listed address, but he had left the premises.
