BEND, Ore. (AP) — Police say they believe a body found in the Deschutes River south of Bend, Ore., is that of a local woman who vanished two weeks ago.

Deschutes County sheriff’s deputies and Bend police detectives recovered the body Tuesday afternoon.

Police Lt. Ben Gregory tells KTVZ that pending a positive identification, the body is believed to be that of 46-year-old Carol Margaret Ray, who was reported missing by her husband on May 8.

Gregory says foul play is not suspected. An autopsy is planned.

Ray’s car was found abandoned May 9 at a trailhead.
