PORT ANGELES, Wash. (AP) — The state Commission on Hispanic Affairs is holding a public meeting Friday in Forks to discuss immigration and racial profiling.

The commission has invited local, state and federal law enforcement agencies, but not the Border Patrol or the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency.

Commission chairwoman Lillian Ortiz-Self told the Peninsula Daily News (http://is.gd/8yAKF5 ) agents are not invited because of fears of intimidation and arrests.

Ortiz-Self says Latinos will be afraid to show up if those agencies are at the meeting.
