WALLA WALLA, Wash. (AP) — Cutbacks in some parts of the Washington state prison system are sending more inmates to the Washington state Penitentiary at Walla Walla.
The prison is updating a building to prepare for the arrival of 250 minimum-security inmates by July. Another 500 men are expected in the next year.
KEPR reports (http://is.gd/sS9VG8 ) the prison also is adding nearly 40 jobs this summer and 100 more within the next year.
