Thursday, May 24, 2012
WASCO, Ore. (AP) -- Oregon State Police say a 33-year-old Seattle man was fatally injured when his Ferrari collided with an SUV in north-central Oregon.
Troopers say the Ferrari driven by Gabriel Pigotti was southbound on U.S. Highway 97 near Wasco when it collided Thursday with a northbound Ford Edge that was turning left.
Pigotti was freed from the wreckage by fire crews and flown to a hospital in The Dalles, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Trooper Mark Jubitz says the Ford's driver, 90-year-old Peter Macnab of Wasco, was taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.
Both drivers were using safety restraints.
Troopers say an investigation into the cause of the crash continues.
