Ex-Franklin County official charged with theft

PASCO, Wash. (AP) -- The state attorney general's office has charged an ex-Franklin County official with theft, money laundering and possessing cocaine.

KONA reports the charges filed Friday against Dennis M. Huston accuse him of stealing $1.7 million from the county.

The 65-year-old is the former director of accounting and administration for the Public Works Department. Huston was fired and has been out of jail during the state investigation.
