PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Portland police have received many tips but are still trying to find the parents of three children abandoned in a shed.

Lt. Robert King says Friday the children passed a medical checkup and remain in protective custody.

Police responded Thursday after someone reported activity at a vacant home in southeast Portland. Homeless people there say an unidentified woman dropped the children off the night before.

The boy is described as having short black hair, brown eyes and weighing 28 pounds. A girl has long black hair and brown eyes and weighs the same as the boy. An infant girl, believed to be between 8 to 15 months old, is described as having short black hair, brown eyes and two front, lower teeth.
