Pat Casey becomes Oregon State’s winningest coach

CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) — Pat Casey has become Oregon State’s winningest coach, earning his 614th victory in the Beavers’ 7-3 win over Oregon on Friday night.

Casey, who led Oregon State to consecutive College World Series titles in 2006-07, surpassed Jack Riley for the school mark for wins. He has averaged 34 wins a season in 18 years at Oregon State, and moved into 13th place in Pac-12 history for victories.

Riley won 613 games at Oregon State from 1973-94.

Ryan Barnes drove in three runs for the Beavers (36-18), while Ryon Healy hit a two-run homer for Oregon (42-15).
