Sheriff's sergeant injured when car spins out

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) -- A Multnomah County Sheriff's Office sergeant is recovering from serious injuries after his patrol car spun out in wet conditions and slammed into a tree and fence.
Firefighters extricated the sergeant from the car Friday evening. The car's lights and sirens were active as the officer responded to a report of a fight involving weapons Friday evening. Authorities are investigating the crash.
The officer was not identified and is expected to survive.
