D-backs send down Schmidt, make room for Hudson

PHOENIX (AP) -- The Arizona Diamondbacks have optioned catcher Konrad Schmidt to Triple-A Reno to make room for right-hander Daniel Hudson, who was activated from the disabled list and started Sunday's game against Milwaukee.
Schmidt had been recalled Tuesday after catcher Miguel Montero was sidelined with a groin strain. Hudson, the No. 2 starter in the Arizona rotation when the season began, had been on the DL since April 21 with a right shoulder injury.
