EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — The state Board of Higher Education is expected to raise tuition an average of 3 percent at Oregon’s seven universities.
The board meets Friday to set tuition for the next academic year for more than 30,000 students.
Rates vary by university. At the University of Oregon, The Register-Guard reports (http://is.gd/X3Woz1), a proposed 6 percent increase would add nearly $500 to push the cost of tuition and fees for undergrads to more than $9,300. Four years ago it was about $6,500.
