MILWAUKIE, Ore. (AP) — Police in the Portland suburb of Milwaukie say an 87-year-old driver accidentally hit the gas pedal instead of the brake on a pickup truck at a carwash, briefly pinning an employee between the vehicle and a wall.

Officer Ulli Neitch said employee Regino Colop-Morales of Milwaukie suffered non-life-threatening injuries Wednesday. He was taken to a hospital.

The Purdy’s Carwash building was damaged and the carwash was temporarily closed for repairs.

Neitch identified the driver as Donald Ives of Milwaukie.

The police spokeswoman says crash details were forwarded to the Oregon Department of Motor Vehicles for evaluation.
