A long-time bus driver for the Mount Pleasant School District has resigned after being charged with third-degree theft for allegedly using a district credit card to purchase gas for her personal vehicle.
The Washougal-based kindergarten through sixth-grade school district received a resignation letter from Cheryl Randall, a 27-year-employee, dated for Thursday, May 25.
Randall pleaded not guilty to the theft charge last week in Camas-Washougal Municipal Court. A hearing has been set for Thursday, June 28.
According to a report obtained from the Washougal Police Department, Randall admitted to using the district credit card to purchase gasoline from Hi-Way Fuel in Washougal on multiple occasions. The confession was recorded.
