CHICAGO (AP) — Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez took advantage of a Bosnia-Herzegovina gaffe to score in the 92nd minute, allowing Mexico escape with a 2-1 victory in an exhibition game Thursday.

The Manchester United star, who came on as a substitute in the 61st minute, had blown two chances to score in the 80th minute. But given another shot in a scrum in front of the goal and with the clock winding down, he came through.

Stojan Vranjes misplayed the ball with an ill-advised bicycle kick, and the ball rolled right to Chicharito and Bosnia’s Boris Pandza. Chicharito stepped in front of Pandza and poked the ball into the net, leaving Bosnia goalkeeper Asmir Begovic no chance to block it.
