SALEM, Ore. (AP) — Attorney General John Kroger’s will step down on June 29 at 9 a.m.
Kroger announced in April that he will resign this summer to become president of Reed College. He notified Gov. John Kitzhaber of his plans in a letter dated Wednesday.
The governor’s office says Kitzhaber will make a decision early next week about an interim replacement to finish Kroger’s term, which ends in January.
