ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) — Buffalo Bills defensive end Shawne Merriman is feeling like his “Lights Out” self again after participating in his first practice in nearly eight months.

Despite turning 28 last week, Merriman says he’s turning back the clock after rejoining his teammates on the field for a voluntary minicamp session Thursday.

It was his first practice since having season-ending surgery to repair both a partially torn Achilles tendon and a shoulder injury last November. And it came two days after he received a clean bill of health from a specialist who performed the operation on the Achilles.

Now, the three-time Pro Bowl selection is confident he’s in a position to regain the form that made him one of the NFL’s most dominating pass-rushers before his career was slowed by injuries.
