Mount Vernon man accused of killing wife

MOUNT VERNON, Wash. (AP) -- Mount Vernon police arrested a man Wednesday in the death of his wife.
He had reported she was fatally injured Monday falling down stairs at their home.
Police say detectives discovered inconsistencies that led them to arrest the 49-year-old man for investigation of second-degree murder.
