WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) — Mike Colvin completed 24 of 34 passes for a career-high 362 yards and three touchdowns and ran for two more to lead unbeaten Lehigh to a 36-35 triumph over Holy Cross Saturday.

With 13 seconds to play, a 43-yard field goal attempt by John Macomber of Holy Cross sailed wide right and Lehigh (9-0, 3-0 Patriot League) escaped with its 18th consecutive regular-season victory. The Crusaders (1-8, 1-3) had 527 yards total offense but lost.

For Holy Cross, Steven Elder and Ryan Laughlin combined to complete 29 of 44 passes for 336 yards and four touchdowns — two each to Mike Fess and Gerald Mistretta. But Colvin wouldn’t let Lehigh lose.

Two of his touchdown passes went to Ryan Spadola, who missed the previous two games with mononucleosis. Spadola caught eight passes for 202 yards and two touchdowns — the last a 33-yarder with 2 minutes left to win it.
