EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Taylor Martinez has become Nebraska’s career leader in total offense.

Martinez passed Eric Crouch for the top spot with a 33-yard pass to Kenny Bell in the second quarter against Michigan State. The 21st-ranked Cornhuskers were tied 7-7 with the Spartans when Martinez broke the record.

Crouch, the 2001 Heisman Trophy winner, had 7,915 yards in his career. After completing his long pass to Bell, Martinez was sacked for a loss of 10 yards, and then ran for 14. The junior finished the drive with 7,937 yards for his career.

Martinez’s 59-yard run in the first quarter set up Nebraska’s first touchdown of the day.
