Senior living center offers memory screenings
Tuesday, November 6, 2012
Highgate Senior Living will offering free memory screenings this month.
The screenings, in celebration of National Memory Screening Day, will take place from 10 a.m. to noon Nov. 13 at the living center, 9803 N.E. Hazel Dell Ave. in Vancouver. Screenings take 10-15 minutes. No appointment necessary.
Memory care specialists at Highgate say early detection is a key factor in establishing successful treatment and care giving options. Screenings, while not diagnoses, are an important first step in determining if an elderly person has a problem, they said.
Highgate will also provide information about the causes of memory decline and offer suggestions on courses of action.
