Cowboys need win at Philly in battle of 3-5 teams

IRVING, Texas (AP) — Dallas coach Jason Garrett says the Cowboys aren’t desperate. Evidence suggests otherwise.

Dallas (3-5) has lost four of its past five games heading into Sunday’s matchup at Philadelphia. The Eagles have the same record, so logic suggests the loser won’t have realistic playoff hopes the rest of the season.

The Cowboys are still fighting serious injury problems. Running back DeMarco Murray is expected to miss his fourth straight game with a sprained foot, and temporary starter Felix Jones is hurting, too.

Another injury replacement, linebacker Dan Connor, could miss his second straight game filling in for Sean Lee, out for the season with a toe injury.

Garrett says he prefers the word “urgency,” and he always wants his players to have it.
