Letter: Coal transport has gone on for years

The Columbian
Published: November 6, 2012, 4:00pm

They have been running coal trains from Wyoming through the northern middle state cities for 40 years. Perhaps it’s time to ask those states about problems. I had a relative who lived in La Crosse, Wis., and put her washed laundry on the outside line, less than 100 yards from the Burlington railway line.

I suspect that one hour of I-5 traffic could be equal to about 12 hours of railroad pollution.
