Soroptimists honors woman for work with children

Camas — Kris Henriksen of Clark County Community Services was honored with the Soroptimist International of Camas/Washougal Ruby Award on Oct. 16 at Zion Lutheran Church in Camas. Henriksen was honored for coordinating the Teen Talk Program and mentoring young volunteers who respond to calls from teens who need to talk to their peers about difficult issues. She also works with schools to increase student awareness of mental illness among children and teens. The Soroptimist Ruby Award honors women who work to improve the lives of women and girls through their professional and/or volunteer work.
