Aurora Bodenhamer, Hockinson soccer
Hockinson girls soccer player Aurora Bodenhamer has been selected The Columbian’s fall sports athlete of the week in a vote by fans on Facebook.
Bodenhamer collected 46 percent of the 968 votes cast by fans to beat out Monica Bottelberghe of Columbia River swimming. Bottelberghe had 39 percent.
Bodenhamer scored four goals as the Hawks won three loser-out games to clinch a berth in the Class 2A state tournament.
Other nominees included Camas cross country runner Alexa Efraimson, Skyview cross country runner Colby Gilbert, and Columbia River volleyball player Sophie Kuehl.
Nominees are posted on The Columbian’s blog at www.360preps.com on Monday. Voting starts shortly thereafter at www.facebook.com/360preps and continues until Thursday evening.
