SE Louisiana defeats Stephen F. Austin 42-27

HAMMOND, La. (AP) — Xavier Roberson rushed for 117 yards and two touchdowns and also returned a kickoff 96 yards for a score and Southeastern Louisiana scored 22 unanswered points to defeat Stephen F. Austin 42-27 Saturday night.

Rasheed Harrell added 151 yards and a TD for the Lions (4-6, 4-2 Southland Conference).

Southeastern Louisiana had 278 yards rushing to offset a 124-yard performance by the Lumberjacks’ Gus Johnson, whose 4 TDs tied a single-game school record.

Johnson had three straight rushing scores to give Stephen F. Austin (4-6, 3-3) a 21-14 lead with 1:05 left before halftime.

Roberson returned the ensuing kickoff for a touchdown, but the Lumberjacks blocked the extra-point attempt.

Johnson rushed 11 yards for his final TD with 9:31 left in the third quarter, then it was all Lions.

Nathan Stanley threw a 26-yard pass to Jeremy Myers, Harrell scored from 28 yards out, then Roberson from the 8.
